Lamphun is located in the norther part of Thailand
, 690 kilometers from Bangkok and 25 kilometers from Chiangmai.
Lamphun was founded by Queen Chammathevi,it was
formerly called Hariphunchai.

It was one of the largest ancient cities in northern Thailand.This
has made Lamphun rich in old and historial culture and a very traditional
northern life style.This ancient city is known for its beautiful women and
tasty longon.Wat Jammathevi,the oldest temple in this area is of great interest
to visitors to Lamphun.
